It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Lake Mills. Santa arrived in Commons Park on Nov. 30 by fire truck, accompanied by a special friend to firefighters everywhere, Gavin Martin. The five-year-old garnered statewide attention this summer for raising over $6,000 for the Sun Prairie Fire Department after the explosion that rocked downtown Sun Prairie, July 10. Gavin showed up in the truck with Santa eager to help him light the tree downtown for all to see. He was also the first in Lake Mills to tell Santa what he was hoping for this year for Christmas. Gavin’s father told the Leader Friday, the boy was excited to light the tree and meet Santa. “He said he could do it all by himself,” said Daniel Martin, Gavin’s father.
