Two juveniles are in custody after police say a fire was intentionally set at the Almena U.S. Post Office. The Turtle Lake police department says Almena firefighters responded to the scene around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday night. When they arrived, there was heavy smoke coming from the roof of the building on all sides. The fire was quickly put out, but it appeared to be suspicious. Firefighters called in officers to the scene, and it was determined that the fire was arson and had been set before 7:35 p.m. that evening. Around 2 a.m. on Sunday morning, officers took two juveniles. They are being held at a juvenile detention center. Residents who receive their mail from the Almena post office will need to contact the Barron post office for updates on how to get their mail and where. The incident remains under investigation by the Turtle Lake Police Department and the U.S. Postal Inspector Office.
