Fire destroyed the Dun-Rite Asphalt Maintenance Company, W725 County B in Marinette in an early morning fire Wednesday, Jan. 31. The Town of Peshtigo Fire Fire Department received the alarm shortly after 3 a.m. A passerby had alerted authorities to the fire. Town of Peshtigo Fire Chief, Mike Folgert arrived on scene and immediately called for a MABAS box alarm bringing in units from the City of Marinette, City of Peshtigo and Grover-Porterfield fire departments for assistance. The main part of the building was destroyed along with tools and equipment. The office area was saved along with valuables, computers and files. Chief Folgert stated it was difficult to keep water to the fire as tenders were filled and water dumped as fast as they could. Folgert, called a second box alarm on the MABAS cards for tenders only which brought in Town of Lake and Pound Fire Departments.
