A man was injured and a garage and truck were destroyed in a Sunday afternoon fire, according to Wind Lake Volunteer Fire Company Chief Rob Robins. The fire began just after 4 p.m., when an arc flash from a compressor ignited cleaner and gas in a detached garage at the corner of South Denoon Road and Hart Drive in Wind Lake, Robins said. The homeowner, who was working in the garage at the time, suffered burns to his legs, nose and throat. He was transported via Tess Corners ambulance for his non-life-threatening injuries. Two boats stored near the garage were spared.
