A joint meeting between the Clinton Fire Protection District Board and the communities the fire district serves was planned for Tuesday evening to discuss the future of the department. According to a meeting agenda, the village of Clinton, town of Clinton, town of Bradford and fire district board will discuss administrative positions, changes to the fire district agreement and structure of the department. Clinton Village Administrator David Hooker said longtime Fire Chief John Rindfleisch resigned in 2017. “He’d been chief for a long time, so that kind of left a void,” Hooker said. “The fire board took over running the fire department, and what we’re seeing is that there was a lot of miscommunication between the fire board and the firefighters and EMTs.”
