VIDEO: Firefighters typically fight fires but some Eagle River firefighters spent the day making an ice and snow bar on Wednesday. "I think half the department thinks we're nuts," said Eagle River Fire Department Captain Jim Kauzlaric with a smile. Kauzlaric and a few other firefighters plan to put down their fire hoses to pick up some bartending skills this weekend. "[We are] making a bar here for serving beer," said Kauzlaric. The department has worked at the USA Pond Hockey National Championship on Dollar Lake in Eagle River since 2006. "Unbelievable the amount of people we get to talk to," said Kauzlaric. This year, the department decided to build a bar in the party area on the lake.
