Newly appointed Fire Chief Jude Wolf vividly remembers the day he wanted to be a firefighter. He was 4 when he saw a fire at a newspaper plant in Milwaukee. “I remember walking down toward the scene, watching in awe, and from that moment, I had the dream of becoming a firefighter,” Wolf said. Wolf was elected fire chief of the Cottage Grove Volunteer Fire Department by the Cottage Grove Volunteer Association in November. He was sworn in at the Jan. 4 Cottage Grove Village Board meeting and again Monday at the Cottage Grove Town Board meeting.
