After mid-May 2017 tornado ripped through Chetek and Cameron, Wis., leaving one person dead and dozens injured, staff from Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake were returning to the devastation to utilize their medical training and emergency response training in any way they could. Full-time paramedic with the center and Bloomer Community Ambulance Service Chief Mark Schwartz was one those medical professionals assisting on scene. He noticed the staff only had a tent set up to do their work, and there was nothing to block people from the elements in the aftermath of a tornado.
