Every year, the La Crosse Fire Department holds ice dive rescue training.
After finishing the classroom portion of training, the divers are ready to put what they learned into action.
"We're going through the final certificate," said Captain Tom Griffith with the La Crosse Fire Department. "Basically, the final discipline for our newest divers to become full fledged divers with our team."
Divers from La Crosse County, Washington County in Minnesota, and the Milwaukee Fire Department joined the training.
"We saw the La Crosse Fire Department was hosting this ice diving class, and we thought it'd be a good idea to come up here and take it," said Tom Wellinghoff with the Milwaukee Fire Department.
