The saying “it runs in the family” applies to new fire chief Pat Gavinski when it comes to his family’s involvement with the Kilbourn Fire Department. Pat Gavinski said his father, Tim Gavinski was an assistant chief, grandfather, Bob Gavinski, was a former chief and his brother, Dillon Gavinski, was also involved with the department. “Once I moved back to town, it was something I knew I was going to do,” he said. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Platteville in Dec. 2007 with a degree in civil engineering and started working with the DOT right away.
