After more than 20 years of service and over five years as fire chief at the Kilbourn Fire Department, Chief Scott Walsh is getting ready to move on. “I kind of lost the desire and didn’t feel I was able to give 100 percent of my time to the fire department,” he said. “You get to that point where it’s time to let the younger guys and the guys coming up take over and carry on the tradition.” About a year and a half ago, he started a new job as director of building and grounds for the Wisconsin Dells School District. He said he ensures that the students have a safe and clean environment while overseeing 15 custodians and three general maintenance workers.
