An Eau Claire man will spend two years on probation for setting a fire at his former residence. Jayson R. Harding, 27, 2007 Second St., pleaded no contest recently in Eau Claire County Court to an amended misdemeanor count of negligent handling of burning material. He was originally charged with a felony count of arson. Harding also pleaded no contest to misdemeanor counts of resisting an officer and disorderly conduct. A felony count of second-degree recklessly endangering safety was dismissed. Judge Michael Schumacher fined Harding $1,329. As conditions of probation, he cannot drink alcohol or enter taverns.
