A firefighter was injured and several others treated for dehydration after a structure fire that broke out at a single-family home after 4 p.m. Saturday in the 33000 block of Oak Knoll Road. Multiple local fire and rescue agencies responded, including South Shore Fire Department, the city and town of Burlington, Waterford, Rochester, Kansasville, Tichigan, Wind Lake, the Town of Raymond and Somers. The Racine County Sheriff’s Office also responded. Several other area agencies were also brought in, including Delavan, Vernon, Mukwonago, East Troy, Salem, Greenfield, Greendale, Town of Waukesha and Franklin. Rochester Fire Company chief Jack Biermann said that the homeowner was using a torch in the basement, which is how the fire started. The occupants were able to exit the home safely.
