It was an explosion that rocked downtown Sun Prairie and called for dozens of firefighters from multiple departments, including Sun Prairie's bravest. One week later, after help from other departments to help fill shifts during a time of mourning, Sun Prairie's fire department is back on its own.
"Well, it was chaotic," said Lieutenant Aaron Huebner as he looked back on the day he'll never forget.
Huebner was one of many firefighters who ran to the explosion scene ready to do what they were trained to do.
"Every fire has its own unique challenges. This one was particularly difficult, though it did go perfectly," he said. "Everybody gave something that day and some of us gave everything."
