Firefighters found smoldering clothes in a dryer Tuesday night when responding to a fire call on Madison’s east side, according to a release. Crews were called around 9:45 p.m. to the 500 block of North Star Drive after a dryer caught fire, officials said. The resident used a fire extinguisher on the fire before crews got there, but they weren’t sure if the fire was entirely out, according to the release. Firefighters found light smoke inside the home and smoldering clothes in the dryer, officials said. Firefighters removed the smoldering clothes and took them outside, where the clothes reignited.
