A fire in Janesville on Saturday night caused $40,000 in damages, according to a press release from the Janesville Fire Department.
Crews were sent to 802 E. Court Street around midnight. When they first got to the scene, they reported heavy smoke coming from the third floor. It appears the fire originated from there. In total, 24 firefighters were sent to the home.
Firefighters say they quickly got the fire under control, and no one was hurt.
The American Red Cross is helping the seven adults who lived in there.
According to the press release, the fire appeared to be an accident however, the exact cause of the fire could not be determined after an investigation.
