Fire crews are investigating the cause of an overnight apartment garage fire in Kronenwetter. First responders were called to the Timber Creek apartment complex, off of Kronenwetter Drive, around 2:30 a.m. Monday.
Crews from several departments were able to contain the fire to the garage but anything inside was likely destroyed, according to Kronenwetter Fire Chief Roger James.
"I just woke up and got a knock on the door, and I saw it burning down," said tenant Harrison Widdes, who's two-week old truck was inside the garage. "My heart sank a little bit, naturally, but as for what happened I don't know."
Widdes say he's lucky since he has renter's insurance.
James says fire crews are still working to determine a cause and a total dollar amount in terms of damage.
