Beaver Dam firefighters and police had a spring that was unprecedented, and Tuesday, members of the two departments as well as four civilians were recognized for their actions in emergency situations. The Beaver Dam Police and Fire Commission presented awards to firefighters, civilians and a police detective for their service in three different high-profile incidents. The Executive Apartements, 600 W. Third St., burned April 7 claiming the lives of Jade Wilson, 24, and Corrine Bolin, 63. Six firefighters were honored for their actions in responding to the fire, which remains under investigation. Fire Chief Alan Mannel read from a letter from Wilson’s mother, Louise.
