Barron Electric Cooperative, along with matching funds from CoBank’s Sharing Success Program, recently donated $3,000 to the Bear Lake-Haugen Fire Rescue to help purchase personal protective equipment for firefighters. Barron Electric’s General Manager Dallas Sloan said, “Giving back to the communities we serve is part of our culture, and we are proud to support this worthwhile cause.” Lt. Bill Duerkop said, “We greatly appreciate the donation, it will go a long way. As a department, we not only help to prevent the loss of life from fires, but respond to several medical related emergencies. Safety is one of the most important jobs of a firefighter.”
