Firefighters rescued a woman from a tree in downtown Madison Thursday afternoon, according to a news release. The Madison Fire Department said a crew responded at about 4 p.m. to the 400 block of Henry Mall to assist a 20-year-old University of Wisconsin-Madison student who climbed a tree on the mall but couldn't get down. The woman, who was between eight and nine feet from the ground, strategized for about 20 minutes before ultimately calling 911 for help, according to the report.
