Two families were forced from their homes overnight as a result of a fire at an apartment building in Fox Crossing. Firefighters say they were called to 2211 Southwood Dr. just before 10 p.m. Sunday. Crews discovered the fire in a wall of a first-floor apartment. Firefighters isolated the fire to a small section of the wall. They then checked to make sure it had not spread to other areas of the building. The American Red Cross was called in to help the families that could not return to their homes. All other residents were allowed back in later in the night. No injuries were reported at the scene. Firefighters continue to investigate, but say the fire does not appear to be suspicious.
