VIDEO: The residents of two apartment units on Madison's east side were displaced early Monday morning after a fire broke out, officials said. A dispatcher with the Madison Fire Department says the apartment building is located in the 2900 block of Commercial Avenue. Firefighters were called to the area around 4:45 a.m. Investigators said the fire started on the first floor of the building, but the exact cause is still under investigation. Officials did not know the exact number of residents affected by the fire.
