Fire breaks out at the Nemak Plant on Gateway Drive in Sheboygan early Tuesday morning. Battalion Fire Chief Keith Risse says they got a 911 call just after 2am that there was a furnace malfunction which caused the fire to escape the equipment and spread. The fire quickly made it to the roof of the building. Firefighters and plant personnel worked to knock down the flames, but had a tough time using water because of the molten metal in the area. Snow, wind, and cold temperatures also made firefighting operations difficult as they were dealing with the roof. There's significant damage to the roof area - though the good news is nobody was injured.
