The Beaver Dam Common Council approved a collective bargaining agreement with the city’s on-call fire fighters at its meeting on Monday night. The motion passed unanimously 12-0. Council members Robert Ballweg and Kara Nelson were absent. The agreement will bump up the pay for the on-call firefighers, who work part time and receive a stipend and an hourly wage. Beaver Dam also employs full-time firefighters. Yearly stipends will increase by 0.5 percent. A part-timer in their first year will see their yearly stipend rise to $1,791.10. A firefighter in their third year will make $2,139.08. The highest pay grade will be for lieutenants after five years, when they will make $2,831.65.
