A fire consumed a garage in the town of Fox Lake on Monday afternoon, causing an estimated $150,000 in damage to the structure, which was deemed a total loss. The Fox Lake Fire Department responded to W9880 Ireland Road at 1:10 p.m., and officials shut down County Highway 33 for a period of time because there was zero visibility due to smoke. Fox Lake Fire Chief Aaron Paul said mutual aid was provided by Beaver Dam, Randolph, Horicon, Cambria, Waupun, Friesland and Burnett Fire Departments. Macheel Excavating of Randolph provided assistance in knocking down the structure to get at additional hot spots. The garage is owned by John Skinner.
