Drones could be spotted "buzzing" around Janesville soon, according to a news release from the Fire Department. Fire Chief Randy Banker hopes that using unmanned aerial vehicles could help create actionable pre-planned responses to buildings across the city. Officials plan to collect aerial images of commercial structures that can be accessed by emergency responders at a moment's notice. The drone pilots hold a certificate in compliance with FAA Part 107. Flight personnel will be carrying a letter of authorization from the fire chief.
