Saturday night, Madison Fire Department said an aggressive fire was reported on the 1900 block of Northport Drive. MFD was called to the 20-unit apartment building around 7:18p.m. The fire department said firefighters entered through the front of an apartment where they found heavy smoke. The second story bedroom was fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters were able to put out the flames, and the damage is limited to the single apartment. Three people have been displaced, and are receiving assistance from the Red Cross. MFD said the fire caused approximately $15,000 in damage. The fire in under investigation and no injuries were reported.
