The Beaver Dam Common Council on Monday approved a conceptual design for a new 82-unit apartment complex that has drawn concerns from the fire chief over its lack of sprinkler systems and access points, allowing the project to move forward. The new complex would be near Spring Street, north of the Spring Lake apartment complex near Kohl’s and between two older subdivisions. Council President Robert Ballweg is the real estate agent on the property and abstained from all related votes. The final vote was 7-5 with Ballweg’s abstention and council member Dan Doyle’s absence.
