As the top fundraiser for the Riverside Elementary School’s Walk-a-Thon, Abigail Hanke, a third-grader, earned a ride to school on one of Fond du Lac’s fire trucks. Abigail was picked up at her home where she boarded the fire truck and saw firsthand all the technology that firemen use when responding to an emergency, and could feel how it is to ride in a truck this size. Upon their arrival at school, Abigail expressed her gratitude by presenting firefighters Capt. Jim Wamser and Engineer Keith Wendt with a thank you card.
