The Sheboygan Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 2300 block of North 25th Street on Wednesday afternoon. The 911 caller who lives in the home called to report that she was trapped inside of the home and unable to exit due to the heavy smoke. The fire department arrived on scene within three minutes. Crews were able to locate the trapped occupant through a rear bedroom window and assist her in escaping from the burning home. The resident was unsure if there was another occupant inside. After a rapid search of the home, it was learned that the second reported occupant was not home at the time of the fire. The rescued occupant was treated at the scene for possible smoke inhalation.
