Several kittens are okay after a fire at their apartment building. Firefighters rescued the pets and gave them oxygen, while crews worked to contain the flames on N. 24th Street and W. Kilbourn Ave around 11 p.m. Wednesday. Milwaukee fire department officials say everyone got out of the building okay, and no injuries were reported. They say the building likely suffered water damage, and the Red Cross would be getting involved. When asked, the fire department officials said they weren't sure where the six cats ended up, and they could be back with their owners or at the humane society.
