VIDEO: The Janesville Fire Department received a donation of pet oxygen masks to help animals recover from smoke inhalation. Invisible Fence donated the masks to the department as a part of their Project Breathe program. According to fire officials, as the holiday season begins, the increase in cooking and heater use leads to more residential fires. First responders say that in a scenario like this, it's important that you get yourself out of danger before worrying about pets. "That's what we are there for; to help people and their pets," said firefighter paramedic Jordan Herget. "If their pets aren't able to make it out of the house safely, hopefully we are able to go in there and assist them ourselves."
