Clare Wolf, a firefighter from Rubicon, has won a national award for the hearing impaired. She was a finalist in the adult category for the Oticon Focus on People Awards and won the most votes of three contenders. Oticon, a hearing aid manufacturer, honors individuals for their contributions to the hearing impaired community with the awards. Wolf received her award in Florida last weekend, which came with a cash prize, a trophy, a donation to a charity of her choice and a new pair of hearing aids. She has been a firefighter since 2016. When Wolf was up for a job last year, a suspicion of hearing loss came up and an audiologist made the diagnosis.
