VIDEO: A community is heartbroken after the Wesley United Methodist Church in Marshfield was destroyed by a fire on Sunday. Investigators from the State Fire Marhsal's office along with investigators from Marshfield Fire and Rescue and the Wood County Fire Investigation Task Force are on scene. Investigators said they were called to the scene around 2 p.m. Sunday. They say no one was hurt, but, at this point, they don't know what caused it. When crews first arrived, the church was already engulfed in flames. "When we arrived, we had heavy flames coming out of a window, on the south side of the structure and heavy smoke. We attempted a quick knock down, we did make entree, however, due the windows being Plexiglas, it hampered our efforts and we eventually had to go to what we call a defensive attack to fight from the outside," said Deputy Fire Chief Troy Weiland with the Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department.
