Thanks to a donation from a community business, first responders in Chippewa Falls will now be more prepared to handle emergency situations involving a popular item of jewelry. When responding to emergency situations involving hand injuries, Chippewa Falls Fire Chief Mike Hepfler says it's important that first responders have the right tools. He says the department has ring cutters strictly for gold and silver style rings but as the jewelry industry evolves, some rings are now made from different materials and experts say traditional ring cutters just won't "cut" it. "With Tungsten Carbide unlike a traditional gold band, it's really hard to cut off, they're actually impossible to cut off," said Eric Pulver, owner of Eric’s Diamonds in Chippewa Falls.
