A garage was destroyed in a fire Thursday afternoon in the town of Oconto. Oconto Fire Rescue, dispatched to 6152 Cream City Road about 12:47 p.m., found a single-story garage fully involved in fire. The garage’s roof had already collapsed, and vinyl siding on the house 15 feet away and on another garage about 30 feet away was melted. OFRD requested mutual aid because of the location of the incident and the freezing weather. Departments assisting were fire departments from Oconto Falls, town of Little River, town of Pensaukee, and Pensaukee First Responders. The Wisconsin State Patrol and the Oconto County Sherriff’s Office also assisted. Three engines, three water tenders, two ambulances, one rescue truck and one command vehicle with approximately 31 firefighters from the surrounding area responded to this emergency.
