The Poynette-Dekorra-Lowville Fire Commission introduced a new medical director on Jan. 9 who will be working for EMS this year. EMS Director Amber Hahn said previous medical director services were provided by Peter Pickardt but that service is no longer available. The new medical director, Jennifer Bahr, is an ER physician at Divine Savior Hospital and is the medical director for Marquette County EMS and Cascade Ski Patrol. Bahr’s current duties include attending monthly meetings, trainings, develops protocols and participates in quality assurance review. She will be available for three to five hours per month. Bahr’s services will be different than with Pickhardt as the Fire Commission approved a new $6,000 contract with her. Pickhardt’s services previously came at no cost.
