A fire on Friday afternoon severely damaged an apartment building near Parkersburg, but thankfully, no one was hurt.
Fire crews from Vienna, Waverly and Williamstown were called to a fire at 705 Palmer Drive, just outside the Parkersburg city limits, about 2:30 P.M. Friday.
Firefighters say the fire heavily damaged the second floor of one apartment unit, but the man living inside the apartment escaped and was not hurt.
The fire was quickly extinguished.
No other apartment units were affected by the fire.
