A 49 year-old-man died in Saturday's house fire on Jo Street in Fairmont, said Fairmont Fire Chief Ed Simmons.
Reported at 6:31 a.m., Simmons said the man’s remains have been taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Charleston. His identity or official cause of death has not yet been released.
Simmons said the fire's cause hasn't been determined yet and the state fire marshal will continue their investigation into the blaze.
Marion County Rescue Squad, Fairmont Police Department, Fairmont Fire Department, along with the West Virginia State Fire Marshal all responded.
