Teenager dies in two-vehicle crash in Fayette County

One person has died after a car crash Sunday night in Fayette County. Two cars crashed on Deepwater Mountain Road at the intersection of Armstrong Creek Road near Adena Village about 6:20 p.m., according to a news release from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. One driver had to be extricated by firefighters and was taken to Montgomery General hospital for treatment. The second driver died at the scene because of injuries sustained during the crash. Because the driver was under 18, the identity of the driver will not be released. Deepwater Mountain Road was closed for a couple of hours while crews investigated the crash and cleaned up the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the sheriff's office.
