A house and a vehicle in Jackson County, W.Va., were struck by lightning.
Ravenswood Volunteer Fire Department Chief Craig Blackhurst said a vehicle parked outside of a home on Walnut Street was hit by lightning about 7:20 a.m. Friday. Firefighters said smoke rolled out of the vehicle when they arrived, but they could find no fire damage.
The home also was hit by lightning, which tripped the breakers inside the residence and knocked some electrical receptacles out of the wall, the chief said.
A family was inside the home when the incident happened, but no injuries were reported.
