Members of the West Virginia State Fire Chiefs Association gathered at the West Virginia State Fire Academy in Jackson’s Mill for a meeting with the Chair of the state committee on fire departments, and to elect new officers.
Delegate Joe Statler, Monongalia County, who serves as the Chairperson on the Committee on Fire Departments and Emergency Medical Services, spoke to the gathering, giving updates on pending legislation affecting volunteer fire departments around the state, and an update on the audit conducted by both the West Virginia House of Delegates and the State Senate last year in an effort to check on the state money provided to fire departments by the state.
