The Pratt Volunteer Fire Department took a big step this weekend in rebuilding after a crash left their department broken. 18 people from different Kanawha County volunteer fire departments spent 10 hours Sunday learning what they need to know to become a firefighter. "It's still hard and not left our minds," acting Pratt Fire Chief Rod Johnson said. The small town is still healing after a crash killed the departments Assistant Fire Chief Michael Edwards and Thomas Craigo and injured several firefighters including the Fire Chief Timothy Walker. The crash left the department with a hole. "The guys are healing, it's a very slow healing but we are healing," Johnson said. "We are trying to get the fire department back to normal or as normal as possible and we have great community support."
