The Huntington Fire Department's rescue boat is out of service Monday night after it began to sink in the Ohio River. Fire Chief Jan Rader tells WSAZ they took the boat out for the first time in a while, and when they started up a pump that normally takes water from the river and pumps it out to fight fires, the boat actually began taking on water. Rader said the water will have to drain completely from the boat before the repair costs can be estimated, so there is no word on when the boat will be back in the water. No one was hurt. The boat was acquired by the city in 2014 with a $569,000 federal grant.
