Two county fire departments hosted Mother’s Day events over the weekend. Jane Lew Volunteer Fire Department hosted its annual Baked Steak Dinner on Sunday, using the same recipe that the Auxiliary founding member, Reta Stewart, developed.
This year, the department almost completely sold out of steak, marking it as a success once again.
“I want to thank everyone for coming,” President of the Auxiliary James Oldaker said. “We hope to have a Father’s Day dinner, too.”
Chief Mitch Oldaker agreed, saying he was pleased with the turnout and the show of support for the auxiliary.
Pricetown Volunteer Fire Department hosted a Mother’s Day Bingo Saturday for the third year in a row. The event was organized by Donnie Farrell, the president and Assistant Chief.
