Firefighters in Morgantown kicked off their week by hosting the fourth annual ‘Operation Warm’ event.
They went to different elementary schools preparing kids for the winter.
Firefighters went to various schools around Morgantown providing new coats to elementary students free of charge.
Coordinator of the ‘Operation Warm’ program for the Morgantown Firefighters Local 313, Derek Porter, said the firefighters have been able to reach more students this year than ever before because of donations from various organizations.
"This year we’re very fortunate that Tele-Tech corporation has donated us $5,000, so we’re using that to fund our coat program this year, by doing that we were able to almost cover every elementary school in the county,” said Porter.
