Parkersburg Fire Chief Jason Matthews says investigators are still determining the cause of a home fire near 16th Street that hurt 3 people and caused a home to collapse Thursday night. Crews were removing the destroyed remains of the home Friday morning as fire officials investigate the cause of the fire. An elderly couple and their grandson were taken to the hospital to be treated for possible smoke inhalation after fire destroyed their home in Parkersburg Thursday night, authorities said. There's no word on their conditions. Firefighters were called to the two-story home at 1613 Pearcy Avenue about 11:30 p.m. The home was fully involved when they arrived. Three nearby homes were also damaged, and power lines in an alley also caught fire.
