An elderly woman and her daughter were rescued from the roof of their home during a fire early Friday morning. It happened in the 1800 block of 12th Ave. in Huntington. Firefighters say they were called to the home about 4:30. The woman and her daughter say they didn't feel they could safely go down the steps and get out, so they went out on the roof instead. Fire crews got them down with a ladder truck. No one was injured. The fire was contained to a couch in the living room.
