Three Cheat Lake volunteer firefighters were taken to the hospital after their truck was hit on Interstate 68 as they were responding to an accident. Cheat Lake Fire Chief Jason Christopher said his crew was responding to an accident on I-68 at mile marker 10 Sunday afternoon. While they were en route, Christopher said the truck had to make a U-turn on the interstate to go in the right direction of the accident. The truck turned on its lights and when it went to move into the median to cross over, a car tried to move past the left side of the truck, sideswiping the firetruck. Christopher said a Penske box truck then clipped the other side of the firetruck. Neither of the other drivers were injured. All three firefighters in the truck were taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital as a precaution and were later released.
