Fire crews will keep rolling out with more efficiency in West Virginia and Ohio thanks to several million dollars in grant money.
Lieutenant Joshua Brown with the Madison Volunteer Fire Department said they have been awarded more than a half million dollars to spread between five local departments for air packs that normally cost $3,000 apiece.
“That way we’re interoperable, and if we’re in a fire in Van or Danville, or wherever, we can use their packs and bottles or vice versa,” Brown said, “the firefighter assistance grants are tremendous.”
